The Information Centre

5th November 2017

Lots of people still come in to the Information Centre and say ‘wow I have never seen this place open before’ even though we have been open for almost two years! But that is good as it means we are still reaching new people, although means we still have work to do on promoting what we do. What do we do?

Well two years ago a couple of park people secured a small grant of almost 7000 pounds to give the almost empty and unused Information Centre some much needed TLC, get it back open to the community and get the community using it.

Here we are, with a small dedicated team of volunteers, expertly assisted and advised by our Community Manager Penny Read, opening the Information Centre every weekend from 11am until 3pm.

We now have informative relevant displays and a colouring table for kids as well as lots of leaflets and information to help and inspire you on your trips to Crystal Palace Park.

We also encourage other community groups and organisations to use the Information Centre when it is not open to the public and this has been a great success.

The Great North Wood Project, Crystal Palace Fun Runners, Friends of Crystal Palace Dinosaurs, Wild Horizons, Art for Wellbeing, Storytelling in the Woods are just a few of the things we have run from the Information Centre and a few of the groups who have used it.

We sell duck food and honey made from Crystal Palace Park bees as well as being a friendly welcoming face to out of towners.

We have also played an important role in letting the community know the latest on the regeneration plans.

We love what we do and are always looking for new people to help us expand what we offer. If you think you could help please do get in touch with

In 2016 we had over 1000 visitors, in 2017 we are set to have well over 2000 and we would like to continue to grow this number in 2018.

Come down and see for yourself.
